The iconic Bab Al Bahr Hotel are hosting an artist in residence programme, which will see local and International Artists working within the hotel over the coming months and years. In the novel one of the characters cuts paper shapes from old books, and in the acknowledgements at the end of the book, Ness writes: “Shortly after giving George his pastime of cutting shapes from books I was directed (by a perfectly innocent party) to the extraordinary work of Su Blackwell”.
In the interview, Patrick talks about his book, and about my work, and acknowledges another artist, singer/songwriter ‘Colin Meloy’.
I’ve just ordered my copy of the book, and am looking forward to reading it.
